CHOCOLATE MAYONNAISE CAKE

INGREDIENTS

·                3 cups all-purpose flour (unsifted)

·                1½ cup of sugar

·                2/3 cup of unsweetened cocoa

·                2 teaspoons of baking powder

·                1½ teaspoon of baking soda

·                1½ cup of Best Foods mayonnaise

·                1½ cup of water

·                1 ½ teaspoon of vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS

1.             Preheat oven to 350° F

2.             Grease 2x 9” cake pans with butter. Line bottoms with wax paper

3.             Sift together all dry ingredients into a large bowl

4.             Stir in the mayonnaise

5.             Add the vanilla. Gradually stir in the water until smooth and blended

6.             Pour into pans and bake for 30 mins until done

7.             Cool completely before removing from pan

8.             Frost with Fluffy Chocolate Frosting

 

FLUFFY CHOCOLATE FROSTING

INGREDIENTS

·                3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa

·                4 cups of powdered sugar

·                1 ½ teaspoon of vanilla

·                ½ cup of condensed milk

·                ½ cup of butter

INSTRUCTIONS

9.             Mix cocoa and sugar

10.         Cream part of cocoa-sugar mixture with the butter

11.         Blend in vanilla and half of the condensed milk

12.         Add remaining cocoa-sugar mixture and blend well

13.         Add remaining condensed milk and beat to desire spreading thickness, adding more milk if needed
